Acai - What is it?
Acai (pronounced ‘ah-sigh-ee’) is a small dark-purple colored fruit that grows in the Brazilian Amazon Rain Forest. It is a fruit that has been cultivated and eaten by the natives for hundreds of years. Acai is an excellent source for antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, and Omega 3.

Is Weight Loss Possible with Acai?
There are lots of traits that acai possesses that promote healthy weight loss. The antioxidants rid your body of toxins, which helps you feel morealert and full of energy, giving you the extra boost and motivation to carry out your daily activities. The Omega 3 fatty acids in acai berries boosts your metabolism, allowing you to digest food more quickly and more efficiently whilst burning more calories. As with anything, overconsumption always has side effects. As of yet, no scientific study has been carried out which proves that acai is in any way negative for ones health. Acai berry is rich in fibre, which when consumed in large amounts causes appetite suppression. This is generally not considered a negative side effect as appetite suppresion helps you lose weight. However for some people, high fibre content may lead to gastric discomfort. High fibre helps your body get rid of toxins and waste materials, allowing your body to functionmore efficiently.
